I tried Afghanistan’s national dish, Kabuli Palau, on the Grand Trunk Road just a few kilometres down the road from Afghanistan – in Peshawar, Pakistan. See my reaction to eating this juicy Kabuli Palau.
Kabuli Palau (also known as Quaboli Palaw, Qabili Palau or Palao, Palaw, Pilau or Pilaf, and Qabili/Kabuli Palau) is a popular meal in Afghanistan. It’s a rice dish containing tender lamb or chicken, carrot strips, raisins, and light spices. It is traditionally topped with chopped almonds or pistachios.
